You have the calling into Christian ministry and the anointing is on you - now what? East River School of Ministry’s (SOM) vision is to make passionate believer’s of Jesus Christ into commissioned and committed ministry leaders that will faithfully fulfill the Great Commission.
3-2-1 Lets go!
The SOM has 3 different study tracks: Pastoral Ministries, Missions, and Worship that all prepare students to lead with God’s people with confidence. All 3 of the tracks of study are 2 years in length and students who successfully complete their track will earn a certificate of completion.
All classroom studies focus on knowing God’s word as it is written, learning tools that will help you be successful in ministry, and then immediately applying both in ministry settings. Many academic organizations focus on academic learning first, and then application in ministry. What sets East River School of Ministry apart is that while we highly value academics, we equally focus on Christian character development and being active leadership development in ministry. Entrance exams are not required, but students may be more successful in academics having successfully completed high school and by have a solid working of knowledge of Microsoft applications. Click on the Program Options tab for more information about all 3 tracks.
Classes are taught in the Hillsboro, Oregon area in the evenings, in a slightly accelerated format. Classes are taught one at a time over six weeks which will prepare students to make a global and local (glocal) impact for the Kingdom of God. [Ephesians 4:11-13].
The East River School of Ministry is not an accredited college. Coursework and completion certificates may not transfer to accredited academic agencies. Students who are considering transferring to an accredited college should thoroughly investigate their transfer options prior to enrolling in the School of Ministry.
"Over the past year I've found more joy in living and serving like Jesus. I knew in my heart I was called to give my whole life to Him, but it didn't feel like I was doing everything I could. The School of Ministry has provided me with direction, fellowship with like-minded people, and most of all a greater understanding of what it is like to really be a servant like Christ. The work isn't easy, but the choice to obey was"
